| | Guest | New Zealand flight tips I'm planning on flying to New Zealand on December and/or January. I'm
currently working in Kabul, Afghanistan and I was wondering where
should I look for lowest flight prices. To get out of Kabul I pretty
much must fly Ariana Afghan Airlines which will get me to any of the
following places: Dubai, Sharjah, Islamabad, Moscow, Amritsar ja
Dushanbe. The follow-up flight to New Zealand is the problem. How and
where can I look for low prices and can you recommend any specific
company? I need a round trip and I will spend about ten days in NZ
once I get there. Any help or tips are highly appreciated.

I am pretty sure Garuda does not fly to Dubai. They used to fly to Abu Dhabi
(sp?) but it looks they they have stopped.
I don't think BA flies eastwards from Dubai, only to London, but probably
there is a codeshare with Qantas.
Anyway a Dubai travel agent should know the best options.

| | Guest | New Zealand flight tips We were looking to visit relatives in Abu Dhabi last year and it was cheaper
to buy a Auckland-London ticket than Auckland to Dubai. BA flies to
Singapore and are offering cheap London-Auckland deals at this moment in NZ,
using codeshare with QF to Singapore. It depends on their traffic rights
Dubai to Singapore

What have London-Auckland and Auckland-London fares got to do with Dubai-NZ?
Are you suggesting he should fly back to London to get the cheap ticket?
I am based in Jakarta and fares from here to London are often more than from
Australia to London or v.v, but so what? I guess it's due to traffic volume
and competition. I usually buy tickets ex-London.
I don't think BA or Qantas fly Dubai to Singapore. Maybe there is another
codeshare you are referring to? I can't see how you can do it on BA/QF
I still think Emirates or SQ (and some others) offer better options Dubai to
NZ than BA/QF. (And usually from London I get better prices on SQ to
Australia than I do on BA/QF, not that it is relevant to the original
question.)
