Default Bora Bora ring question

there are motus (tiny islands) that circle the main bora bora island ...
there are hotels on many of them.

they are quite a distance from the main island (5-7 minute boat ride).

to circle bora bora, might i suggest an outrigger canoe.

there are places in the middle of the lagoon that are shallow enough to
stand ...
and other places which are very deep and rich with coral and other life.

Default Bora Bora ring question

it is REALLY expensive ... mostly ... but we stumbled upon a place on
the island called "blue lagoon" ... they were a restaurant, internet
cafe, all around area hangout, as well as accommodations which, if my
memory is correct, was only $65 canadian per night. very simple, but
cheap cheap cheap by polynesian standards.

before i went, i read that there were accommodations for backpackers on
many of the islands in french polynesia ... but i didn't believe it. now
i do. there are probably other simple places like this ... but not many.

it is the most amazing and least americanized place i have ever visited
.... it actually felt foreign!

i did calculate some of the over water bungalows and found that the
prices ranged from $800-1000 canadian.

i found the most affordable way to go there is a package deal. however,
blue lagoon type places would be cheaper yet.
