2005 Prius, leather seats, and air bags.

I realize that in the effort to keep their car "green" Toyota doesn't
offer leather seats in the Prius. Does anyone know about an issue with
leather and air bags where dealers discourage putting in the leather
because the stiching may not break apart in an emergency to allow the
air bags to deploy? Thanks.

Toyota doesn't seem to have any problem with leather in other
vehicles as it's available as an option in at least some versions
of even the Corolla. Toyota's luxury Lexus line has had leather
for some time.

>From what I saw leather was only on package 8 (10k package). Any
reports that it will be offered as the $1000 upgrade that it is today.

All I want is leather and airbags.
