Default I thought the Gen II Prius had ABS brakes?

Maybe not, since I managed to fishtail it today behind a big rig that locked
the trailers up and bounced them.
Guess they couldn't get the electric motor braking to work as an ABS unit
does in the Prius.
Surprised me.

So why can I lock the brakes up and slide the rear end around? That's the
puzzle. Slipping sideways and seeing tire smoke in the rear view isn't
something I've observed before, but this was a panic stop and a half when
the truck locked his brakes up and his trailers began hoping sideways. The
Prius stopped, but I've never hit the brakes that hard for it to do what it
did. I need to ask the dealer at the next service what' up with it.

Checking on a features site says it does have ABS and Traction Control, but
it sure didn't act like my other vehicle where I've felt the ABS kick in and
do the slip-and-release thing.

I wonder how close you were to this tractor-trailer.
