Default Highlander Hybrid and harsh weather conditions

my Highlander is an 08, NON-hybrid with toyo 19" (A20) open country. Its
been to/thru snow (plowed) in Or, Wa, Id. It did okay. Toyota DOES as
Dennis said caution against using the hybrid off-road and I bet on snow too.

Seemed fine on the plowed roads with ice but I didn't/don't go crazy. Was
never in much more than about 10" or so of fresh snow in Idaho but it did
fine but tires were under 10ks then.

Yes, but I was wondering about on road performance. I just want to be
able to drive and stay on the road in snowy and icy conditions.

I saw a Prius having some problems getting traction after a heavy
snowfall this winter and was wondering if the Highlander Hybrid would
have similar problems.

I have a Prius and was disappointed in how it handled the snow. My thought
process at the time was blaming it on the tires that are meant for mileage
maximization. I still think so. While the treatment of power to the wheels
likely has a lot to do with your question, I suspect that the tires are
different as well as Toyota wants it to show the best MPG it can get. (I
have not looked up the tire specs on the Highlanders ...)
