| | Guest | Highlander headlight adjustment I've searched the Net and haven't found any info on how to adjust the
headlights on a 2001 Highlander. There are no visable screws to turn. I
do see "up - down" and "left - right" on the top of both lamps but no
opening to adjust them?!? Anyone know where the adjusting screws are?

The screws may have a plastic cap on them and have a bolt head instead of a
screw head.

Look down...you should see a grey colored bolt with a large serrated
washer around it. But, IIRC, the adjustments are BACKWARDS from the
markinks, ie. the markings indicate the direction the BOTTOM of the washer
should go. | |

Are you talking abot the area almost inside the fenderwell to the far
right or left of the individual light, at the back of the light? I did
turn the one screw on each light I found there, no movement at all.
Don't know what they are for.
But no plastic caps, screws, bolts or anything else up front! Just the
black plastic that makes up the back of the light housing connecting at
the "lip" to the clear lens up front. On the lip are the arrows and
left/right, up/down, but no holes just solid plastic. I'm wondering if
one actually has to remove the lens to find the screws. Probably will
have to take it to a dealer, just to have the lights adjusted so I can
see in front of the car, not a quarter mile away where the light now
illuminates. | |

The adjustment screws are behind the headlight assembly. One or two
complete turns of the screws will make very little difference in headlight
aiming so you may have to make lots of turns.
