Default 2003 Camry - sun roof noise

2003 Toyota Camry SE 4 cylinder. Mileage: 70,000. Just recently
noticed wind noise coming in from the sun roof. When I push up on the
back part (closest to the back seat) of the sun roof, the noise
decreases.

Any suggestions on what the problem is and how to resolve it? Thanks.

Try closing the sun roof.

You hear noise when the sun roof is closed? Have you checked the
condition of the weather strip around the roof?

johngdole had a good idea. You can get some silicone spray lube anywhere
and apply some to a rag and then to the gasket. It will 'recondition' the
rubber and make a better seal.

Hachiroku - your suggestion worked!

I guess the weather extremes of this past chicago winter had affected
the rubber weather strip. Some silicone spray did in fact recondition
it just fine.

Thanks johngdole and Hachiroku.

I have that on my 1995 CAMRY.

But I noticed the noise was there if i slid the roof back the just closed is
as I wanted.

But if I closed it as normal.

Then just done the Tilt Open then just shut is again it was ok.

If you understand that.

Johnny UK.

i'm with retired vip on this one. it's easy on these things to not close
them fully. make sure you keep pressing the close button until it's all the
way back AND then all the way up into the closed position as well.
