I have a comment about Passats....
When I bought my 97 Camry my friend got a 97 Passat both new.
I told him to get a Camry due to resale value and few problems.
He liked the Passat better...Last year he gave the car to a relative
as it needed $4,000 worth of work and was worth nothing on trade in.
Paint was toast, many other small and large problems were in the car...
Mine still looks and runs great with 181,000 miles on it. Just got
back from a 1,000 mile round trip and it used just a tiny bit of oil.
His never came close to even 100,000 miles...

Aren't we a friendly lot?

It seems to me rear seal are rear seals, and all work the same way.

Just those on Passats give way a little more quickly! That's why I have a
Camry!
