Default growing camilla sinensis from seed

Hey just thought I'd try growing my own tea plants. I got some seeds from a
seed dealer on ebay and hopefully they'll sprout. My family's got this plot
of land that is a north-facing slope and if they sprout I'll stick 'em in
the soil there. It's in SoCal so I just hope it's not too dry and hot. I
might have to build a little trestle over 'em.. I'm kind of winging this
because there aren't a whole lot of sites with detailed instructions on how
to grow tea. (Used to grow c*nnabis in my closet back in college so it'll
be nice to finally be able to grow something I can put outdoors. :)

That should be a lot of fun. Just wondering - are you growing them for
aesthetic purposes or do you plan on actually drinking the final
product? It would be interesting to hear what "California Tea" tastes
like!

growing to drink it! oh and that should have been "camellia" or "camillia"
I think.. I can never remember that one.

Yep, definitely going to drink it if I can get 'em to grow. Maybe give out
a couple oz. at christmas to friends and family.
