Default Must be nice

The owner of a construction company I know decided that it would be
worth his while to be able to fly himself to visit job sites. After
trying out a few planes and discussing mission needs with a couple of
people he bought a 2004 Bonanza in which he will be learning to fly
and then using for his business.

That is nice indeed, but there are additional factors that he should
consider when making this decision.
Traditional aviation training is based on the inherent assumption that
most pilots learn to fly in simple slow aircraft and then move up with
experience. It is certainly possible to learn to fly in a fast slick
airplane, but it would require a different training approach and
personnel. You would have to customize the training program and hire a
professional who knows how to do this right. I hope that is what your
friend is considering.
