Medical visit for PPL

Hi all,

8 years ago, I had a pulmonary embolism. 2 years after a phlebitis.
Now I have to take every day a anticoagulant drug (PREVISCAN with
Fluindione).

A few years ago, I wanted to start learning to fly in France. I had to make
a medical visit before. I was "rejected" because I was using an
anticoagulant's drug.

I think in USA you need also to make a medical visit bevore learning to fly
?
Are rhe criterias the same than in france ?
Could someone under anticoagulant's drug learning and after the PPL flying
alone ?

Pulmonary embolism is technically disqualifying. They can be reviewed on a
case by case basis. It depends on why it occurred in the past, which
determines the likelihood of recurrence and if there was any permanent
disability attached to it.
