The oral exam lasted every bit of two hours, maybe a little more.
We did have a couple of interruptions, but for the most part we were
talking. It wasn't high-stress at all, however. It was basically one
new pilot talking to one old pilot, trying to impress him with my
knowledge, but learning a great deal from the experience.
I think he realized early on that I knew all the required
information, so he kept probing for areas that I didn't have a great
depth of information. I don't think I got any answers "wrong", but
after I would answer, he would add his two cents in interpreting the
FAA/AIM, so it was very informative and laid back.
