Default C-152 pilots

I fly a 150 that has a max gross of 1600. When I went for my checkride, he
told me he weighed 250, I weigh 188 according to my medical. I know I weigh
more than that fully clothed. I'd guess him a 280. I did the weight and
balance and informed him that "IF" he was telling the truth, we could take 9
gallons of fuel and no baggage whatsoever. We left with 14 gallons and my
bag of assorted junk. Density alt was 2200 and the plane was very wimpy but
then again it is a 150. One thing to remember is that manuevering speed goes
up as the gross weight goes up although being over gross isn't a good idea
to me. I'm sure there are large safety margins but the history of that
aircraft could effect that as well. Just my 2 cents.

Default Question for C-152 pilots

There is no safety margin, as far as you are concerned. Fly the airplane
within the weight-and-balance envelope or you are in violation of 91.9.

Extended fuel in 152? It already has more endurance than I do flying the thing.
But I guess you're right...there's an STC for 24 more gallons. 8 hours in a 152
is painful!
