It does not matter where in the stack the scale is. Put it on the
bottom of the stack if that is more stable. Just subtract the weight
of the stack above the scale from the tail readings.

Default W&amp;B - personal seat moment arm

I find the pilot CG to be just about the belly button. Measure the
distance from the datum (leading edge of wing) to your belly button
and use it as a cross check. Then load your weight at that arm to EW
and cross check things.
