| | Guest | MXZ 600 TROUBLE Howdy folks - I am not much of a mechanic but I am totally into extreme
sledding, so I need help with my MXZ. Seems like everyone is talking
about starting troubles so here goes: when my sled is hot it starts
perfectly every time, but when its cold and I go to start it, it fires
okay but I have to sit there on the throttle for like 10-15 minutes or
else it will die. Then I really have trouble. Not only will it not
start again without a serious work-out on my part, but when it does
finally start it bogs down badly and I have to go through the whole
process of new plugs and all.
Is this normal and is it just flooding or do I have something more
serious going on?
Help! Snow's almost here!!

properly......

| | Guest | MXZ 600 TROUBLE If it were the chokes out of adjustment , it would not run right after it
was warmed up.

Have you checked the compression hot and cold?

It is October 4th, you are going snowmobiling,
and you're jealous of *US*, Jenny ?!?!?!?!??!?!
LOL!
I think all here can agree, your problem seems to be fuel delivery.
*Jenn, when was the last time you had the carbs gone though,
cleaned up, rebuilt, renewed, etc etc ???
*Are you prudent about storing your sled for summer?
(albeit a VERY short time!)
*Do you feel, that the last gasoline purchase you made for the sled
came from a reputable dealer, with FRESH gas?
(this is always a concern of mine, when buying around back at Hoppy's)
FWIW, I experienced basically the same problem. Sled started cold,
no problem, but would only continue to run with full choke applied.
Turned out, a jet was dirty and the added air from the choke was
needed.
Just food for thought.
PS, After this weekend's ride, be sure to rub it in come Monday,
here for the group of strong guys. :-) | |
