Scuba Diving: St John ... or maybe Andros, Bahamas?

The Mrs is thinking about finding a beach someplace where I can go
diving, possibly April/May timeframe. Heard a couple of rumblings
about St. John (she's mentioned "Maho Bay" in the past?); any
suggestions on the island?

For destination option#2, I recall that Skip Weldon went to Small
Hope Bay Lodge several years ago; anyone been there recently?

Andros was one of my favorite places to dive, but everything I did there was
from one of Blackbeards' live aboard boats. I've seen the resort, but more
than one hurricane has been through since I last did.

I recall hearing good things about it, but I do recall also some
weather having gone through there...probably the summer that they
changed Florida's State Flag to the blue tarp :-). Was hoping that
someone's got some recent scoop.
