| | Guest | puerto vallarta I'm going on vacation at puerto vallarta and was hoping to get some
dives in. Can anyone recommend a dive shop/owner operator and any advice
as to where the best dives are?

Check out Chico's Dive Shop on Playa Los Muertos, been in biz for
ages. Sort of pricy. Also go to Leslie's website for discount tours
and activities at puertovallartafun dot com
Note: diving is better in Acapulco but there are areas to set off for
scuba. Like out by the Marieta Islands, clearer deep blue water. If in
season may see a whale. Dolfins around all the time, and marlin,
dorado and huachinango. Out by Los Arcos we feed gorgeous blue/yellow/
white/black angelfish!

Thanks so much for the info. Have you been out to El Morrow? So far I'm
thinking a day at El Morrow and a day at the Marietas Islands.

No, I have not. You will be pleased most if you get away from shore as
you prob know. The deeper water is clearer though not necessarily
calmer as this is the Pacific! But, with a good guide and gear, you
will have a great dive. Remember, the water is not crystal clear with
white sand like the Caribbean...this is a rougher rugged water and
topography! Have a blast and let us know your opinion...Oh and check
out the malecon at sunset all the way until late. Lots of music,
meeting, food, joviality.

Will do and thanks so much for your insight. I grew up on the Pacific so
I understand the waters. Also, coral is not a big deal for this trip. I
just want to visit some critters no matter who they are.
BTW I was only going to bring a wet suit, mask and fins. Are Chico's
prices okay for regulator, weights and such?
thanks again,
