Default diving at Guardalavaca, Cuba

Hi everybody
I'm planning a trip to Guardalavaca (Club Amigo), Cuba on March 4,
2006.
Does somebody have any information about diving at this area?
What the best sits to start with?
What is water condition should I expect?
How would you rate the diving shop there? Prices? Equipment rent????
I will appreciate any information about the area.

Default diving at Guardalavaca, Cuba

Just returned from Club Amigo Guardalavaca.

Here is a short report about Guardalavaca diving.

The diving center is located on the western end of the Guardalavaca
public beach. The shop looks well established: allot of fresh water,
change rooms.

Prices: 35 CPC for the single dive; 30 if you make more then one; 25 if
five and more. The equipment rent: 5 for reg, 5 for BC, 5 for suit per
dive. They can take payment at the end of the vacation according to the
amount of dives.

Equipment, and specially regs are in very bed shape. They have new
ones, but don't give them easily.

The levels of the instructors are good; they supervise dives in save
manner. But the shop operations are very frustrating. We have many
cancellations as a result of the boat problems, and managed to squeeze
only two dives in six days.

The reef quality is 50 from 100. There have nothing special, but quite
pleasant sites to visit.
