Default Tahiti

Just returned from Tahiti, dove Moorea, Rangoria, Bora Bora. Outrageously
expensive. Diving $55 to $65 US. Taxi in Bora Bora from Matira Point to
Viatepe (7 km) $15.00 US. Food at restaurants also very expensive even at
the cheap places. Groceries; very expensive but you can save a bit by
fixing your own breakfast and lunch. Diving best on Rangoria and the people
the nicest too. No bad diving, just great and better than great. The
Sheraton Moorea at $400+ per night comes complete with roosters that begin
to crow at about 3:30 and continue to 5:00 AM; a place that should be
avoided at any cost.

Other than the roosters, what other gripes did you have about the place?
I've previously stayed at the Moorea Beachcomber Intercontinental but am
considering the Sheraton for a future visit.

Did you stay at the Kia Ora on Rangi? Where on Bora Bora? Who'd ya dive
with on each island? Did you like Moorea or Bora Bora diving better (second
after Rangi, of course)?

Thinking about Tahiti for our25th next year. Any suggestions on
hotels/operators? Which two islands (we're looking at two weeks).

When my wife and I dove in Tahiti we hooked up with a company call
TopDive for 10 dives and it was allot less then $600 and we got to dive
three different islands. Check them out.

everything is exspensive in Tahiti. They figure if you can afford $600 a
night for an over the water bungalo, then what's another $600.
