Default maldives

Hi,

I plan to go on holiday in Maldives in Reethi Beach Resort (RAA Atoll).
I m a rookie for diving and I wonder if there is any danger with
Sharks in Maldives ?

Are sharks coming near the beach ? or do they stay behind the coral reef ?
Is there any danger for children during snorkelling ?

Thanks
Ludovic

On a more serious note....

I just returned form the maldives (Bandos) - fabulous diving and yes you are
likely to see a lot of sharks, mainly white and balck tip reef sharks tho many
othe varieties inhabit the waters. Good news is tho they are not in the least
interested in you..theres far to much for them to eat there already. So long as
you dont go around bleeding profusly in the water or deliberately annoying
them you will have a greta time watching them do there thing.
