Default Tropical Storm Claudette and Cayman

Anyone know how Cayman fared through Claudette. The news said that Cayman
was hit with very large waves. I wonder how the reefs took the storm.

Coral reefs are strong enough to weather waves caused by tropical storms 120
miles away. Otherwise, there wouldn't be any reefs left at all anywhere in
the Caribbean. A direct hit from a hurricane might be a different story,
but after weak Claudette I'm confident that Cayman diving conditions will be
perfect when I go next Sunday.

Default Tropical Storm Claudette and Cayman

I was on Little Cayman at the time. There was a day of rough-but-tolerable
conditions. That evening, it got windy and rainy. Rain was gone by the next
morning, but it was too rough for boats to go out. Some folks did go shore
diving that afternoon, but the vis sucked.

Two days after the storm, the vis wasn't "normal" for Little Cayman, but it
was OK (30-40' or so) and the ride was just a little rougher than usual.
Grand Cayman got it worse, and there was some flooding, but nothing that's a
big deal to people accustomed to tropical storms.
