The next to last row of Cyclops had a new PTC hollow seat divider. The train
seemed to be in better shape than it was last year (aside from the back seat
being totally closed off and lacking some padding) but it still is in rough
shape.
Zeus was a nice surprise. It hasn't run that well for a while though we
skipped riding over the wheels and I notice the back seat was closed off.
Hades really needs a second train. It's still a very huge draw for the park
and they have to cut the line up to an hour early. I saw some unhappy guests
arguing with park management, probably over the Hades line closing so early.
Zeus and Cyclops are fine with one train.
The big go-kart tracks need something to help move the line as well. Maybe a
few more cars each run or just add another big track since they removed
Medusa's Drop. The park also has their own duck boat ride but it only goes
around the property. It looks seriously lame. The park moved the entrance
again (the entire big entry plaza moved!) so you walk under Hades first drop
to get to the path into the park. The current pathway into the park is
terrible (though quite a coaster alley). I know the steep entry way which
led to the coffee shop probably wasn't ideal but it was wider and made more
sense than the steep, narrow, blacktop path between Zeus and Cyclops.
I don't blame Timber Falls for cutting back on the rerides on Avalanche. To
only run less than half full trains non stop for people paying around what,
$16, for a wristband (now $19+) certainly wasn't going to make them any
money. I was disappointed that the evening wristband was moved later to 7 PM
(I think it was 4 or 5 PM last year). But the wristband is still a great
deal since it includes the coaster, flume and unlimited mini golf all day
including the three courses across the street. Mini golf alone is over $7 a
round.
The Meteor at LAMA was great for a junior woodie. The park seems to be very
proud of the ride. They were giving between 3 to 5 circuits per ride which
was nice for those using tickets.
