I got my registration in postmarked yesterday (thank god!)
so I'll be there bright and early with two friends from Pittsburgh.

there any cool / unique / good places to eat or cool things to
do in the area aside from the park and Presque Isle?

Nice to hear from you, Rob! Hope to see ya at the event! As for cool
places to eat, check out Sally's All-American Diner. It's a classic
diner located just down the road from Waldameer, at the entrance to
Presque Isle on your right as you head towards the Lake. Check it out!
Also, if you like beer or brewpubs, BrewErie is located in downtown
Erie. Otherwise, I'm sure Aunt Rose can help you out. Aunt Rose, you
out there???

Just so everyone knows... The rides at Waldameer don't
open til 1; but the waterpark opens at 11. ERT is over at
11pm and we may leave mid-day for a trip to the beach, a
brewery, or restaurant. Afterwards, we are probably
headed downtown or to Presque Isle Downs. I didn't
know Erie was such a poppin' little town!
