Default Hard Rock Park

Does anyone know of any enthusiast events taking place this spring or
summer at the new Hard Rock Park? I recall when Islands of Adventure
was about to open ACE had an event there and it was great so I was
wondering if the same might happen at HRP.

Working on a few things with the park. Just be patient. These things
take their time. Keep your eyes on the acesoutheast.org website for
details.

Is it me, or does this park have only like 5 rides in the entire
park? Might be me, but can't see many from the park map???

Not just you, Buck. HRP looks to be somewhat of a high quality
production in general, but is severely lacking in attractions- even
for its inaugural season.

You've got the 5 coasters (B&M sit down, Chance/Morgan Mine Train
(Vekoma design), Vekoma Roller Skater, Premier Rides Custom family
coaster with ferris wheel lift, and a low capacity Batflyer being
refurbished by Premier Rides. So from a coaster perspective, they're
pretty loaded (even without a woodie).

But that's about where it all ends. You've got 3 or 4 (can't recall
exactly) heavily themed, but somewhat standard Huss flat rides, the
Moody Blues dark ride, and I think a Chance carousel as well. That
about wraps it up. What baffles me most is the glaring lack of any
water rides- especially at a day/night park in this climate. Plus,
anyone who knows Myrtle Beach knows that moving inland just 2-3 miles
can bump the temps up 5-10 degrees in no time. Pavilion operated two
of the best custom Hopkins water rides (Flume and Rapids) that ever
came from that company. Family Kingdom operates a funky Hopkins
custom layout Flume with that surprise coaster dip element. Why no
water rides were thrown into HRP's first year mix is beyond me.

The park looks as though it will also have 2-3 shows, but that's about
all your $50 ticket will cover. There looks to be quite a bit in the
way of food/beverage and merch. Also a nice concert venue, but that
will surely be for separately ticketed events.

Default Hard Rock Park

Slippery When Wet is a water ride, and there's a watermaze in there
somewhere. I guess building the place with no flume or chutes or
rapids will save them the trouble of tearing it out later, like lots
of other parks are doing these days.

I am sure Slippery is a completely new ride from Premier, not a refurb
of the Emerald Pointe ride. That was found to be unsalvageable.

So maybe they need to open and find out what they're missing and try
to fill it in for the second wave. They're good on coasters but if
they want a woodie, I think The Villain would be a good fit for them
if it's still available in a year or two - it's an aggressive ride,
long but narrow footprint that can fit anywhere, and there's the PR
value of saving a known hit. But I still want to go as soon as they
open. The whole park looks really neat and very classy.
