Paying with a debit card puts you on a government list?

I use my credit/debit card! I never use it as a credit card anymore,
it's there strictly in case of an emergency. Otherwise I use my debit
card for everything, including travel. If I can't afford it, I don't
buy it. Riding roller-coasters is an expensive hobby and I really
went overboard for several years and got myself into heavy debt. But
I found that by paying off my credit card debt I don't have to wait
very long before I can afford to buy whatever I want, and it's
definitely the reason I was able to pay off my car, medical bills and
mortgage so quickly.
Now I just need to start saying no when people call for work!

Yes, I know that Jason. Mark said he no longer has a CREDIT cards.
Wolf wanted to know how he pays for his airline tickets. Seems logical
to me that he would pay for his airline tickets with his DEBIT card,
tied to his savings or checking account. A debit card is NOT a credit
card. That's how I purchase all my leisure travel.
So I ask again: how would paying with a debit card get you onto a
government list? | |

Yes, I assumed he was using a debit card. Turns out I was right. What
method were you assuming he was using? You must have had one in mind
to make the "government list" comment.

Hadn't thought of that.
But what's the advantage? Isn't that basically just using a credit card,
except for without any of the protection features?

The advantage is that you can't spend more than you have.
