| | Guest | Which SoCal park? I'm going to be going to this years BlizzCon (Any Starcraft, World of
Warcraft, or Diablo players should know what it is) in August which
takes place in Anaheim. We've decided to go to a nearby park the day
before the event, Thursday August 2nd. The problem is, I'm going with
5 other people and can't decide on where to go.
One person, Bianca, won't ride ANY tall roller coasters or anything
that goes upside down. She insists on going to Disneyland, not just
because of her dislike for large rides, but also because, well, "Its
Disneyland!" She's a fanatic for Pirates of the Carribean and wants
to see the ride. And yes, she knows that the ride came long before
the movies. Bink is a family friend and shares an apartment with me.
My brother, Chris, is pretty much the same thrill-seeker I am. We
love the thrill rides and coasters.
Then there's Chris's wife. She doesn't have any experience with big
coasters, but is willing to at least give them a try. The biggest
ride she's ridden is Looping Thunder (a Pinfari ZL42) at Oak's Park
here in Portland. I don't think she's ever been to DL.
We have two friends with us, Zach and Zaki. They're also thrill-
seekers.
We can't agree on where to go. Disneyland bores me due to the lack of
thrill rides, but Bianca really wants to go there. I figured DCA
would be a great compromise because its still Disney, but she
disagrees. I've never been to DCA and would like to go. KBF would
appeal to the most people (3 of the 6 of us, MAYBE 4 if Chris's wife
enjoys it), but leaves Bianca with not much to do. Then again, is
there a lot of non-coaster stuff to do at KBF that I just missed
because I don't really look for it?
A 1-day Park Hopper ticket for DL/DCA would be our absolute best bet,
but $83 is a bit pricey. As it is, seeing the $63 tag on a single
Disney park made my jaw drop. I'm used to seeing ticket prices under
$50.
Splitting the group up and going to seperate parks would result in two
groups of 3, Bianca going with Chris and his wife to Disneyland, which
would make her the uncomfortable 3rd wheel, while I went with Zach and
Zaki to KBF.
Any suggestions? Is there more I should know about DCA? Is there a
lot that I've missed non-coasterwise about KBF that would appeal to
Bianca?

Why not just come up with a few different choices and let the members
in your party vote for where they want to go? Let the majority rule!
If the others don't like it, then drop them off at a multiplex
theatre. :)

sounds like there is no good solution for your problem. I went out
to Cal. in 1997 and went to MM and Disneyland. I had the better time
at Disneyland because not only because i grew up watching disney on TV
but the Themeing is better there and also the overall"show" (ie
atmospere, shows,.maintenence, no of rides open) the only thimng I can
come up with is that who likes thrill rides go to DCA and any others
go to Disneyland. just have a place and time to meet at the end of the
day

Drop Bianca off at Disneyland, tell her to have a fun time, and then
go to Knotts. | |
