| | Guest | Coney Island Trip Hi Everyone,
My husband and I are going to try to visit Coney Island before it's
unfortunate demise, and, being from a much smaller city than NYC, we
were hoping people could give us some tips on visiting. We're on a
budget, so we were looking for some affordable places to stay - $70
range would be great, but we do realize this is NY. Into which
airport would you recommend we fly? And based on such, what would be
the best route to the park? As for transportation, would a car rental
or subway system make more sense? What other things are there to do
in the area? Is Long Island difficult to get to from this location,
and is public transportation there an option? Are there any other
easy-to-get-to parks nearby? Any other hints or tips on visiting
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

| | Guest | Coney Island Trip Mark,
Thank you for a thorough and informative response. We did figure $70
was pushing it, but hey, you never know if there's a diamond in the
rough. :) I'll be sure to check out Priceline and the other online
resources. Newark does sound like a better option than the other
airports, and the access to public transportation is a huge plus as
well. Thanks for the transit info - that will be a big help once out
there.
The main reason I was asking about Long Island was actually for Rye -
we were hoping to get there if time permits. It sounds quite doable
on the transit system, which is wonderful. Thanks for all of your
input.
Oh, and we're flying in from Albuquerque - I anticipate the Coney
experience will be quite a change from Cliff's!
Thanks again!

How much is parking at Keyspan? I couldn't find it listed anywhere.

It's somewhere betwen $15-$20 depending on the day (like everything
else at Coney). Three years ago I was refused parking on a Cyclones
gameday when I didn't have a ticket. Not sure if that is policy for
every gameday or not though.

Looks like the Aquarium is $8 but that's only until 8 PM.

| | Guest | Coney Island Trip Hello again!
I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to give me such
detailed and informative advice. I really appreciate it! I'm not
sure just yet what the plan is, but I know I'm going to be able to use
everyone's suggestions to some degree. Thanks again for everything -
I'll be thinking of you when I'm riding the Cyclone!
Sincerely,

Jessica, this may seem out of the norm but if you are at all a flat
ride enthusiasts, please ride, visit, video or at least photograph,
the Saturn 6 ride.
To my knowledge, and I have researched this to the best of my ability,
Coney has the last surviving one of these type rides. Quassey took
there's out several years ago leaving CI with the honor! It's a fairly
old ride but the opening year escapes me at the moment.
I too am planning a final visit to Coney this year and may just ride
the Saturn 6, before the Cyclone! :)
