I'm amused by the painted picture of it.

The RDC's with the 'tank' controls?
Those are great for hits IN REVERSE!

Since everyone jams them forward all the time I think the clutch is worn
and has very little grip/torque going forward but I have found they
usually smack hard heading backwards.

No, no, no...they weren't Lusse's. They were italian built, I think,
just run at full out speed, and they'd fly into the air when hit.

Its a helluva park at night. The bumper cars were really the big draw
in my eyes though. Ask Mike Saunders about that sometime.

I was really bummed when I found out that they'd replaced the Lusses
with the watered down modern cars. To this day, I don't think I've
laughed as hard on bumper cars as I did (at Pres Con I believe) when all
the kids were riding in the classic Lusses, going in circles (cause they
didn't know how to drive), getting absolutely creamed by other riders.
Total jockey sacrifice. Quite a few people probably remember how funny
it was... I thought that Rye's bumper cars were top dog back then.

While most certainly still decent with the new cars, they're just not
the same anymore.

At least I didn't walk into a mirror somewhere else.

Yeah, I know what you mean. They were also amazingly finicky towards what
would make them go forward.

Didn't you see the guy dressed just like you, coming straight at you???

The ones at SCBB were really good for a while (don't know if they still
are) they were electric, but the set at Dorney were gas powered and
stunk up the pavilion that they were in for a gas fume high and did some
good smackin' in reverse too.

I remember Mark M. said he had one of the most fun bumper car rides with
us since the synchronized crash day.
