As one of those "crew of hard core riders" lemme say that, as always,
it was good to see you Mike. Over the years as I've read your reviews
and listened to what you like about wooden coasters I've come to the
conclusion we're cut of the same cloth. When ERT ended Sat night I
could have easily handled another few hours of ERT. Heck, had I known
you were going to post a trip report I could have skipped mine as I
agree with almost everything you said, lol.
I too had been puzzled by my feelings about Legend, which also
previously held my #1 spot. But after this weekend I think I've
figured out the "problem." In almost any other park Legend would
clearly be the star. It's a great ride that is [unfortunately?]
completely overshadowed by Raven and Legend. It's like all three holi-
woodies are filet mignon...but Raven and Voyage are wrapped in bacon,
lol.

get more Voyage] | |

| | Guest | Holiwood Nights Mini TR Ride totals for me for the weekend.
Raven 10
Legend 27
Voyage 55 including a damn near 45 minutes straight the last hour each
night which once was a seven lap tour :)
Visited 4 times last year and Voyage ran damn near that insane every
single time except for HWN when the first three hills were still
breaking in.
Legend this year was LEGEND! Timbers is great but Legend reclaimed
it's number two status IMHO only outdone by it's younger cousin down
the hill.
Chuck, who seen Moosh and many I knew and rode with tons of people.

Is it that Legend is overshadowed by the other rides in the park, or that
Legend was initially overrated due to its park and event?

The way Legend was running this year. IT WAS NEVER OVERRATED AT #5.
It's easily in my top 3.
It had the second seat pop of air on the Carousel turn entrance and
final turn and the whole train went airborne on the first of the
double up. Durring ERT it never slowed in the helix.
Good coaster to some. Great for others. YMMV

Yes.
Voyage can be trumped.
Voyage has elements similar to those of other rides where the other rides
perform them better. Just based on that, Voyage could be better.
