Default Carowinds bait-and-switch?

Hey folks. Was at Carowinds for one more run on the ol' Sternwheeler on
Friday, and something struck me as sort of odd. Well, several things,
actually, and they started to get me wondering if maybe Smurf Island isn't
about to be remade at all.

A) Frenzoid and White Water Falls were both, inexplicably, closed (anyone
noticed these two closed any other days?)

B) King's Dominion recently got rid of their White Water Falls analog, Diamond
Falls.

C) Frenzoid and White Water Falls are the only two attractions in what would be
a fairly LARGE area, perfectly suitable for roller coaster construction.

So, do you think it's possible that maybe these two rides might be coming out,
and the 2004 attraction going there instead of Smurf Island? Doesn't do much
to explain why the Sternwheeler is closing, but still.

Something else bugged me about this too... I heard a rumor on one of these
boards that Carowinds might just be getting Stealth from PGA. I'd discounted
that because there's no way they could fit Stealth's circuit on and around
Smurf Island. HOWEVER... they could easily fit it in the space left over by
removing WWFalls and Frenzoid.

Just some food for thought... here's hoping it's good news on the 23rd...

Nick

Those 2 rides are part of the temporarily closed plague that Carowinds seems to
be suffering from this year. You may see symptoms of this plague in other areas
of the park too. Look for temp closed signs laying on the ground near the ride
entrances to see where the plague has been active.

Regarding what you said yes that would be a better area for Stealth ( I
DON'T WANT THAT RIDE) We shall see though. Carowinds really can't go losing
anymore flats so hopefully Frenzoid will be relocated.
