Camp Snoopy Getting New Coaster Camp Snoopy announced on August 11 more hairpin turns, plummeting spirals
and speeding screams as plans were introduced for the spinning roller
coaster called "Timberland Twister."
The ride is scheduled to open in Spring 2004 and will be the first major new
ride for the park since "The Mighty Axe" which opened on March 20, 1998.
Timberland Twister will take park visitors on a quarter-mile ride in a
spinning, speeding car as it tears through Camp Snoopy and around the Kite
Eating Tree. The spinning coaster will feature a four-person car that spins
on its own axis as it travels five stories high and reaches speeds up to 31
mph (or, 45 feet per second). The ride will be erected in the current
Wilderness Theatre location. Construction will begin to relocate the
theater to the Northwood Stage area towards the end of this month. Ride
construction will begin the first part of October and continue until the
opening of the ride. |
