drop, better second drop, better trains, and a smoother ride. But a number one
coaster has a feel and an impact on you on the first ride. It never left me
feeling #1, but
it did take second.
Great TR thanks. I have to say I am surprised with your review of RoS - do you
like getting beat up on coasters (magnum). Glad you ranked RoS your #2 though -
just surprised with the superior tunnels, 2 helixs, and ejector air throughout,
RoS did not make #1.

Nice TR, Jacob.
A few notes:
BD reportedly has not been running at the '9' level where it needs to be top be
top 3 material. Try again a little later some year. My first time to
Boulderdash was quite similar to yours, and then when I went back to the ACE
pres con the next year and rode it I was blown away and speechless. Last years
late august rides on a GP day at 7:30pm or so mirrored that and it was a
different animal entirely at that point. The way I can tell if BD is running
hot is how much I like the back seat... if the front gives more action, it's
running a little lukewarm. When it kicks into overdrive, the back seat suddenly
(out of nowhere) opens up and it's the place I head.
I do hope you get back there again.
As for the GE Comet, I need to get back there, I've had great rides in the
past, but with some issues at work I'm going to stay with my Denver and CAC
plans and put everything else on hold while I play conserve-the-money again for
a while.
You can always truck on down to Alabama for RRR in September you know !

That's nice to hear Mike. I was really hoping BD might overtake a top
spot. Kind of like a Shivering Timbers with an attitude. I did much
prefer the front over the back, which is rare for me. It does have my
favorite wooden coaster lift though!
I wanted to do something in the fall, I was toying with Kennywood, but
RRR could be a possibility.

As Magnum is right up there for me as well, thanks to it's violent bunny
run in 1.3, I'm curious to find out if you had a chance to ride SROS a
few times. More in particular, did you get a chance to ride the front
seat. I ask because on my past visit, the power of the 4th hill in the
front of the ride pretty much "redefined" the ejection factor on steel
for me. I bow to Magnums vicious quality, but the overall variety of
Superman's ride clinches it for me. I suspect you'd also really like
Phantom's Revenge if you've not hit it yet.
And just to touch another note of your trip report, you definitely were
generous with Boulder Dash. While I still love the ride, my initial
rides this year left me with the thought that if I'd not experienced it
in its ultimate form, it would barely be cracking the top 10... This is
a ride you definitely should revisit later in the season, perhaps for
Oc-Boulder-Fest.

Yeah, I rode front and back. The airtime was definately ejector in a
huge way. I haven't hit Phantom's Revenge yet, but would like to get
up there soon. Superman, overall, seems like it should be my favorite,
but it just isn't, and I can't really explain it. :)

I'm actually glad to hear I caught it on a bad day as opposed to that
being as good as it gets. It will be a while till I get back to ride
it again, so it will suffer in the poll for a few years.

I thought it was really neat to just go up the side of the mountain,
nestled in the trees. It was also a steep lift.
Jacob
immediately struck by the lift | |
