source (the poster was relaying a story from a DIS board).

Can trim brakes fully stop a train? I thought I read somewhere that they can only slow down a train, but not stop one.

This is probably a silly question, but I can't tell from this
description: is the procedure automated or does (as I suspect)
a real live human being have to climb up there and make and check
the attachment, turn on the winch, etc.?
