Default A1A along the east coast of Florida

Has anyone here taken their RV on A1A along the east coast of Florida? I
see a couple ferries on Streets and Trips, which might make it
interesting. Besides the obvious traffic problems, is there a good
reason to avoid doing so? It looks like it might be a really cool trip.

I've driven it in a 32' mh with toad from Hobe Sound to Jacksonville and
had no problems except slow going. I wasn't in any hurry. There is a
ferry across the St Johns River from the backside of Naval Station
Mayport and I think, but am not sure, that it will accomodate RV's.
I've taken it with a sedan many times but never looked at it from an RV
perspective.

The only one I'm seeing now is at Mayport. Maybe I saw it twice this
morning. <G>
