Nice lull between storms here right now. Scattered
clouds and sun for the first time in like 3 days.
The storm yesterday (Friday) around the Bay Area
at lower elevations had these rainfall totals:
Berkeley 4.26"
Moraga 3.42"
Danville 3.15"
Walnut Creek 3.25"
Some upper peaks got over 9 inches.
The Mount Diablo summit reported winds peaking
at 110 MPH.
Interestingly, there is a phone # for recorded wind
and temperature conditions on the top of 3900'
Mt. Diablo (925) 838-9225. At 11 AM this moring
the wind was gusting between 28 & 45 MPH and
the temp was 34F. Plenty chilly with that wind.
I have camped up on Mt. Diablo in the wind.
Sleeping bag with a son years ago. Not pleasant.
The next storm system is due later today.
Yesterday, one of my daughters missed being
T-Boned by a large SUV by a few inches on
Highway 4 at Port Chicago Highway. The SUV
got sideways coming down the onramp. Jumped
the ramp curb. Hurtled down the dirt bank and
rumbled across all the lanes.
Be careful out there.
