I've tried a few ladders on trailers. Got one foot on the bottom rung
and decided that all of them would collapse before I got to the top.
At 270, I'm a bit over your 250 but you'd probably have problems with
a standard RV ladder.

I HAVE been on the roof a couple of times. I was very careful to step
on the roof trusses (how did I find them? They're where the floor
doesn't sag as much when I stepped on it). It was so scary that my
wife and decided to drop our usual "She does everything inside and he
does everything outside" rule. She now give the roof its annual clean.

Cheers, Joe

Now that's a creative solution, Joe... :-)

I'll look into that one myself (although Ortelia has a problem with
heights, she's half my weight or less...)
