Don't leave out Louisiana.
According to TxDot, we do not have the money to do all the
repairs necessary and keep up with the demand for new roads.
They have resurfaced IH-35 through Austin and Georgetown three
times since I have lived here (35 years). That doesn't count
the resurfacing that they do every time they widen the highway.
Here is my question: When they widen a major highway, why do
they just add ONE lane? If they are going to widen the road,
add three lanes. It will not take much longer and we won't
have to have the major artery shut down three times. We can
just shut it down once.
They spent about a year adding ONE lane to IH-35 through
Georgetown. It now needs to be widened again. I guess we
will get another lane, eventually, when the resulting four
lanes will be inadequate before they are through.

They are not in a group all by themselves. Have you been across
Nebraska on I-80, either in an 18 wheeler or a truck towing a 5th
wheel or travel trailer? It's as fine a "road bed" as you can ask for.
The only problem is, it's concrete and about 2 inches out of level
continuously about every 15 to 20 feet - WIDE wash board in other
words. Hwy 2 from Nebraska City to Lincoln was paved by the same
contractor, so I don't go through Nebraska much anymore. There are
also some short stretches on I-10 in LA & MS that have not been
finished either. Oh, and don't forget some stretches of I-65 in AL,
especially around Montgomery, of all places - the capitol!!

How could I leave out I-95, especially between NYC and the NH state
line, a mostly 4 lane highway carrying traffic that needs 8 lanes to
work properly. Also, because of the continious never ending
construction, how could I leave out I-75. They've been upgrading and
then upgrading the upgrades ever since it was built. As of right now,
it's mostly between Macon, GA and the FL line, and I guess through OH,
since it's always been under construction there!!

Mike,
I don't know your plans, but for reference, I have stayed at Pueblo
Lake State Park, just west of Pueblo. The park is convenient to I25.
It's a very nice park. $5.00 entrance fee and around $18.00 for an
electrical hookup site. They have dump stations

We came west on I-80 from York to the NE state line last month and it didn't
seem bad to us. In WY I-80 between Cheyenne and NE isn't so great, but they
appeared to be working on some of that.

Were you towing a 5th wheel or travel trailer? A motorhome or auto
would be smoother. Then again, They may have ground the concrete flat
since I was on it.

We were towing a 35' 5th wheel. I don't know when your trip was, but at one
time much of I-80 in NE was a problem. There was a bump at every cement
joint. They cut six small sections out at each joint, inserted steel rods,
filled with concrete and then ground the surface. Made a really nice road
out of it.

When we got on I-80 east out of Wyoming entering Nebraska, the roadd
was so bad, we drove in the left lane for many miles, as was most of
the traffic.

I'm glad to hear that, because it was really bad when they put it

After they put down the concrete, I ran US-34 & US-30. It was a few
more miles, but I could make better time and wasn't getting beat to
death. I'm glad to hear they brought the grinders in and smoothed it
out!!
