Default finally getting there

Hi folks,
Over the years I lurk often and contribute not so often. Well,
my wife is retiring in June and we'll be an official retired pair. (I'll let
you have potential fun with that)
Now, we hope to be able to contribute more as our experience grows.
Anyway, we are Escapee members and saw their Balloon Fiesta HOP
event. Being from Connecticut it'll be a 4200 + mile trip if we include the
HD plant in Kansas City.
Now, that we'll be taking extensive trips and our 2003 29ft Tripe-E
Commander is out of warrantee (Ford f53 chassis with the V10), I'm very
interested to know if the Banks engine products to improve mileage pay for
themselves?
I'm thinking not. But I respect the members of this group and I'd like
to know your experiences etc.
Thanks in advance,
Tim fm CT

Nope ... but your V-10 should be able to do all you need. Remember
you are retired so enjoy getting there. I have 40K on my 2001 Winnie
and have no complaints. It has done everything I needed it to do while
towing my Liberty ( 4000#+ ).

There's a couple million tractor trailer out there that have proved you
wrong. Average fleet fuel milages went up 10-15% minimum when cruise
control was added to tractor trailers.

Wow, you guys sure do a lot of worrying about what Ford owners have in
their trucks. It must not be all that bad since they are still the
lasgest in the business by a long shot. If I owned a Dodge, Chevy,
Toyota or what ever, I'd be more concerned about my own product.

happy with his FORD & don't worry about your S.O.B. (some other brand)

Both are correct, The difference is the gasoline engine and automatic
transmission. My V-10 Ford truck always gets better mileage with the cruise
off, that way I can anticipate the hills and keep the truck in OD, With the
cruise on it will unlock the converter and then downshift to maintain
constant speed, and the gas mileage goes down. The big diesel truck I drive
at work doesn't have an automatic trans and has enough torque to maintain
speed on small hills that would make my pickup downshift.
On my pickup the cruise will automatically release if it can't maintain the
chosen speed within about five mph, The work truck cruise doesn't disengage
unless the rpm come way down. It may lose 15 or more miles per hour on some
hills with the cruise still on.

Both of you need to give it a try. We took an all day Blue Line Bus
tour of New York City a few years ago and really liked it, even more
so than San Francisco. That day we covered everything from the fish
market, the towers, the empire State building, the parks including the
Stature of Liberty, China Town including a temple, Harlem, the Bowery,
the United Nations, a boat trip around Manhattan and on and on. They
picked us up in North Bergen, NJ at 7:30 in the morning and dropped us
off at 10:00 that night. At $50 each including lunch and dinner, it
was well worth every cent.

Isn't Ford the best selling truck in America? That always speaks for
itself. The average customer is pretty well informed. I joined the
Ford ranks and I am one happy camper! My truck pulls my huge fifth
wheel like it was a toy. Got 17 000 miles on it and not a single
problemo. What else would guy want? And it looks sharp as hell
!:-) Yukon

Geez. NYC is a blast to visit. One of my very favorite. I am headed
there this spring and we want to spend 2 weeks of heavy-duty
sightseeing in and around the NYC. We usually get around on our own,
which is part of the fun. Seems like there are not that many RV
parks around there, we found one on Hudson river, circa 40 miles out
of Manahattan. Walking distance to the train station. How can
somebody not enjoy visiting NYC? Now living there, that is entirely
a different story, it would drive me nuts very quickly. :-)y

It must not be all that bad since they (Ford) are still the largest in the
business by a long shot.<<<

Being a Chevy man, this has always puzzled me.
But Bill Clinton getting elected twice has also always puzzled me.

Being a Chevy man, you shouldn't be puzzled. Ford is number one because
GM splits their sales between two name plates.
