Default AC line voltage tstat..last question

Back one last time (I promise) regarding the installation of a line
voltage thermostat to my TT rooftop AC. LiKe I said previously, I
would like to have the entire unit turn off, not just the compressor,
when inside temp is met.
I have located a line voltage tstat rated at 120v,22amps resistive.. AC unit
total amps is 11.5 amps. The literature also shows inductive amps at 13.
Would this be an issue ?
It appears that this might work for me, but am I missing something before
I go ahead with the project ? ?
TIA
Zork

Our fan doesn't run all of the time, and I soon learned to ignore it
switching on and off.

Default AC line voltage tstat..last question

In article <1155147087.659495.259510@n13g2000cwa. .com>,
groups.theholycow@xoxy.net says...

Even if this does not damage the fan motor, slowing the fan or otherwise
restricting air flow is a bad thing to do to an air conditioner. The
fan cools the condenser too, and if the condenser runs hot the pressure
goes up, putting more stress on the compressor..... And at really low
fan speeds the evaporator is likely to ice up too (like when the filter
gets clogged).

Best to leave A/C design to the engineers who understand it. The fan
speed is an important part of the design.

My opinion,
