Trip Planning along I-80 I would do a lot of research and not rely on winging it. Car tent
camping isn't like RVing. You just can't pull in to truck stop, WalMart
or rest area, you have to plan ahead.
I would put chairs low on my list. Here are some of the things I
remember from my car camping list:
1 roll of toilet paper just in case
matches and a lighter (could make you friends with a smoker)
duct tape (goes for any type of camper)
change it from tent + tarp to tent + 3 tarps. one tarp for under, one
tarp for inside the tent and one tarp just in case you can string it
over your tent.
nylon cord and something to cut it with, maybe some bungee cords for
the tarp over the tent if you think you need the extra protection as
weather moves in
a hammer so that you won't be searching for a rock to put your tent
stakes in
extra tent stakes and get a variety, plastic, wire, heavy duty
important: at least one metal steak knife and a metal fork, you'll feel
silly melting plasticwear over a fire if you forget these
non-important yet usefull stuff: extension cord, box fan, air
mattresses with air pump
nice to have, but takes up a lot of space and you'll probably have at
your campsite: chairs, tables, grill.
