Just a personal opinion=
I enjoyed statying at Banff better than Lake Louise Check on a ten park??
pass. Saved money by buying it. Canadian prices seem expensive, but with
the U> S> dollar worth 1.50 Canadian it all worked out.
Lake Louise was just solid tourists. Banff has a number of camp grounds-
up a hill away from the tourists. Tunnel Mt. Read the brochure and pick
one that works for you. there was even a bus station at the entrance- good
cause there is not a lot of parking in the actual town.
There are lots of alpine lakes between Banff and Jasper, the day I drove up
there, there was not a soul in sight most of the time.
Do be aware of bears and moose.
The one tour that I thought was really worth while was a BUS( I use the word
loosely) of the Columbia Glacier.. Just looking at it does not do it
justice. Being right out on it and having the guide say that the ice is as
deep as the Empire State building got my attention.
I got there early enough for the first tour of the day. Warning, wear your
winter coat- that ice can be cold
Am going back that way next summer and will make it all the way to Jasper.
Negative. I went to Glacier- U. S. Side rainy, cold and a definate hemmed
in feeling. Would not bother to go back.
If you have crossed some of the Mt. summits in Colorado
Highway to the Sky in Glacier does not hold a candle to them.
Willl be curious to read your descriptions after your trip.

And Banff isn't full of tourists???????????????? In Lake Louise you can
choose an electrical site (just a plain pullthru) or a non service site
(which is always empty and very secluded) We tried that last year and it was
awesome, and very quiet. When you get to Jasper and want hookups, stay at
the Whistler campground.

You might be thinking of the Queen Elizabeth Botanical Gardens or the lesser
known Minter Gardens at the turn off to Harrison Hot Springs both very
beautiful, however not as lavish as the Butchard Gardens 10 miles north of
Victoria close to the ferry terminal.

With the average CG fees of $20 to $30 Can that would translate to $ 14 to $
21 US for these type of tourist areas, I would be delighted to stay at
Yellowstone or Yosemite for a mere pittance like that.

Many public park campgrounds do have "no generator" sections. These are
often available after everything else is full too.
