I thought about that. It does sound like an annoyance. It'd be nice if
a Metrocard could be swiped, and just good for rides for 2 hours
(regardless of the number of transfers). I guess the rider would have
to keep track of the time then, at least if going outside of fare
control zones, but that doesn't seem like a huge deal.

Stuff like that will have to take culturally. If you think about it,
having to get on and off in single file as we currently is what's outmoded.
