6th Avenue express bus street fair detours?

This weekend I need to take an express bus to Queens that runs up 6th
Avenue. There is a street fair which is closing the avenue on Sunday
afternoon August 10th, and I can't find any information on the MTA's
website about related detours.

I tried calling the NYC Transit info line at 718-330-1234. After
several attempts where the recording told me to call back later, I
finally got through, but they didn't know anything about Queens
express bus detours.

They transferred me to the College Point MTA Bus Company depot (which
can be reached directly at 718-661-1500, for future reference), where
the operator sent me to several different voice mailboxes, from which
I really doubt I'll get a response in time.

I also sent a message using the MTA website comment form and haven't
heard back.

Does anyone know the usual pattern for express bus detours when 6th
Avenue is closed for a street fair?

Someone who took an inbound express bus that day told me it went up
3rd Avenue.

On Tuesday I took PATH to go to NYPL, and Sixth Ave. was closed from
34th to 42nd because of a construction mishap at 42nd (I cut through
Bryant Park so didn't see what was going on, but on the evening's
traffic reports, 42nd was still closed from Sixth to Broadway.)

Signs for a rerouted QX were posted on the bus stop poles, but not for
any of the many other routes that board along there. (Madison seems
more likely than Eighth.)
