They're not allowed to charge more for credit, but AFAIK they can give
discounts for cash.

Since this dates back to at least 1991 if not 1986 when I was
commuting between Bloomfield, NJ and Somerset, NJ I am 99 percent
certain it is legal. They are giving a discount for cash and it was
well enough advertised that if it was illegal, action would have been
taken long ago.

So it was legal 15-20 years ago. What's that got to do with today?
The northernmost gas station on Tonnelle (1-9) northbound south of NJ
3 had the 5c discount sign painted huge on its wall until maybe a year
