No, they almost always just tell you which tracks you need for your
destination. They're an enormous waste of energy, if you ask me. Just
replace them with signage and public information signs and turn 'em
off.

The "which track" message seems to be the default. Once in a very long
while, they say when one of the four (at Grove St.) trains will be
arriving.
