I'm a stranger in the area and would appreciate your recommended
daytime public transit route.
Thanks | |

That's where Queens Blvd. crosses the Long Island Expwy, near Queens
Center shopping center, right?
You'll be at the Grand Ave. local stop on the Queens Blvd. line. Take
the V to the Lexington Ave. stop and transfer to the uptown 6 to 86th
St. Walk four short blocks south and one short + one long block east.
Or, take the V two stops to the Jackson Hts/Roosevelt Ave station and
change to the E (express) and continue as above -- the E makes only 2
stops before Lexington.
If the R or G comes before the V, take it two stops and change to the
E. Don't take the F; the transfer at Lexington Ave. would require you
to go outside and walk four blocks.

Why should he take the poky local?

The BMT is simply not in my mental map, so I would never think of the
R. I've never made that transfer there. But the E is a very great deal
quicker than the locals.
There are no "extra transfers" if he stays on the V (just 5 more
stops). | |

Where do you think I found out that such bizarre trains as the "V" and
the "R" are the QB locals? (The G I knew about.)

I don't think you read what I wrote. I said to take the V two stops
and change to the E, or else stay on the V.

Uh... the 'guy' is a goil.
At this point, I have tried to digest all this and have almost decided
that it's a "you can't get there from here" type o' deal. I'll study
all your suggestions, consult those get-there maps and meanwhile
marvel at how y'all maneuver the transit network. I suppose a cab
would break the bank.....hmm....
Thank you all for the recs.

Cf. Val Kilmer! and Valery Gisdcard d'Estaing!
She still hasn't told us when she's traveling.

Are you not aware that service can be very different on weekend (and
holiday) daytimes than on weekdays?

I think we should always respond for directions with the trip planner
first, because it does buses AND/OR subways, it knows the schedules
and it'll generate maps. The only person who claimed he could do
better was Daniels, and it was 4 AM and he was obviously drunk.

I'm not surprised that you don't know how to tell time yet, but the
times messages were posted are clearly written at their top.
