avoid the fare hike. He needs to do some people pleasing. Whiteman
avoided fare hikes for NJT throughout her term. Too bad for Corzine he
inherited such a budget mess. Imagine how bad it would be if the
economy was bad. Yikes!

So you're claiming that the only bus fares that were raised last summer
were the ones on the tiny fraction of buses that were $1.10?
Are you aware of the population of Hudson County? How many riders do
these buses serve, vs. whichever ones you're claiming didn't have a fare
increase?

I never said that and I can't figure out how you might arrived at that. At
any rate, the fares for the vast preponderance of NJ Transit bus service far
exceed $1.10 or $1.25.

Maybe you'll do us the honor of presenting those facts, especially since no
one else brought up the topic.

So you admit that my point is totally correct.
The assertion that fares were last raised in 2002 was a lie.

If I knew, why would I ask?
_You_ implied that our fare increase somehow didn't count, and I was
wondering just how many people that insignificant fare increase
affected.

I never said anything about 2002. You can't show anywhere that I did. Your
imagination must be running wild. And I resent your trying to impose
something on me that I had nothing to do with.

You challenged my objection to the false statement.
And now you've snipped everything I said about your claim that a fare
increase affecting all of Hudson County (at least) was insignificant.

For the snipping impaired, here is the original exchange:
>> That's not true; the NJT buses went from $1.10 to $1.25 last year.
>That fare applies to just a very small fraction of the system.
If and when you or anyone else can produce any reference I made to 2002 or
2005, please let us know.
As far as the significance of Hudson County in overall scheme of NJ Transit
use, it seems that we will also have to await anyone's factual input.
Meanwhile, the vast majority of NJ Transit bus route miles are not in $1.25
zone, and there is no way anyone can say they are.
