Would an elected MTA board be better?

Denver, CO is the only city I know of with an elected transit
board, but it seems to work well. The Regional Transit District (RTD)
may not have super-frequent service like the NYC buses and subways but
it doesn a fairly good job considering the city's layout.

How many people here think an elected MTA board would be a good
idea? Why or why not?

New York City's experiment with elected Community School Boards was a
disaster. They quickly became patronage mills.
