Default 110VAC Outlets on express busses

I noticed some 110VAC outlets on the corner near the floor on the new
express busses. Now, on Amtrak, that means, laptops. I'm afraid to ask
because I'm sure there are going to be luddites objecting to such
use. But those busses are so comfy and the ride so long, laptop
plug-in usage seems ideal. Any comments among the tek-savvy?

Well, I was thinking to find the cheapest "night light" and plug it in..
and also to see if it stays there.. as a test of the human reaction..

But I have been conditioned to the tendency of NYCers to
overreact to just about anything and prolly won't do it..

Yep!

Back in the days when I had a long "reverse commute" from NYC to NJ I found
the morning ride was perfect for reading the Times (or the News if I was in
a lighter mood) and the evening ride was good for catching up on some
program editing or finishing off the paper or reading a book.

That was before cell phones etc but I had no desire to even carry a
transistor radio.

And just looking out the window was fun too.
