You do not say where you are orginating from.
The PATH trains connect to NJ Transit at Newark-Penn Station.
But you can get on NJ Tansit at NY-Penn Station.

You get the Airtrain at the Newark Airport Station one station south of
Newark-Penn Station. You have to have a special ticket to access the
gates at the Newark Airport Station

You are joking aren't you? The 62 makes every bus stop on Broad Street
then it stops at terms A, B, and C.

Allow at least 30-40 minutes after leaving Newark-Penn Station
to get to Newark Airport if you take the 62.

Good grief, pay the money and take the NJ Transit train to Airtrain.

PATH from WTC to Newark, NJT Northeast Corridor Line or North Jersey
Coast line one stop to Newark liberty International Airport station,
then the Airtrain to the airport terminal. A NJT ticket to the airport
station includes the use of the Airtrain. I think it was $6.80 whne I
last did it, in April. It's a pity PATH wasn't extended to the airport
station, to directly connect with the Airtrain.

I know this is OT for this thread but here goes.
Extending the PATH was and is not realistic. It would cost billions.

Given what already existed they did the most logical thing.

The long term plan already under construction is to extend the Newark
City Subway as light rail parallel to the NE corridor then behind the
Airport connecting with the existing Jersey Central Elizabethport
elevated railroad.

>From Elizabethport it would utilize the existing Jersey Central tracks

through Elizabeth to Union.

The NJ Transit website has more on this.

Take care,
Randy, Fanwood, NJ

All the signs along the various RVL stations that lack vending machines
say to buy a ticket from a TVM upon arriving Newark, which is not
necessary. You can buy a North Elizabeth ticket on the train, and pay $5
when you get off. They also raised the $5 surcharge to $5.50 with the
fare increase, and from $7 to $9 for NYP passengers. They are merely
collecting a $5 fee for the Port Authority. Those transferring to
Airtrain at Jamaica or Howard Beach still pay $5. There is also no round
trip excursion fare to the airport. It is al unethical behavior by NJT
to do this, and with the state office of Inspector General
re-established, I intend to file a complaint about NJT about their
unethical pricing policies.

The CHEAPEST way from downtown to Newark Airport is the Robert Treat Hotel
Shuttle Van -- direct and free (you might have to look like you're a hotel
patron, but that's easy).

<g>.

I'd have trouble keeping a straight face, but I once got a HoJo van to
take me from their downtown hotel to Amtrak depot 1.5 miles away In Salt
Lake City.
